Zifeng Zang

  • My paintings focus on creating insight into movement with interactive colors that blend into a natural environment or landscape.

I attempt to express the celebration for the dramatic colors with organic brushstrokes rather than the accuracy of specific representation.

In my recent work, I am exploring the pouring technique with different wet or dry media and touchable textures on the surface of the painting. I am obsessed with the random movements of the pigment.

I am also seeking to incorporate more abstract elements to give the viewers like being in nature and my experience deciding to be an artist from a designer.

Besides, I am exploring new series on long-scale canvas, allowing the viewers to appreciate art as if reading a book.

  • I started receiving art education from a very young age, including graduating from specialist art high school, BFA from Jilin University in China, becoming a senior graphic designer and brand manager at 4A Advertising Agencies and tech giants in China over eight years.

For most of my past career experience, I focused on creating imagery characters and advertisement scripts using digital tools, which continuously developed my painting and other art skills.

When I realized I still fell in love with making art without using computer technology, I changed my direction towards fine art and decided to study painting in the US.

I am fascinated to develop my favorite abstract art, which involves my style and past experiences. I am seeking any opportunities to show my works.
